there’s a certain sadness
in her eyes
that words cannot express
a love that’s lost
melted halfway
she is torn
the trust is broken
innocence betrayed
one huge mistake
the rush to label him as her love
to quench the thirst
of her soul
choices are everywhere
but she doesn’t think
and hides behind a drink
oh! this love so
perfect
how naive she was!
the tokens of love tormenting her
the treasures once cherished
now a burden
withered flowers
the letters
and a ring
tears well up as memories darken
a love
that’s locked up deep within
being with
him
and not yet being
a stir
an ache
gasping for air
every day she walks alone
time might heal
is her only hope!

The heart wrenching pain is felt so vividly, time as they say is the greatest healer
Can treasure turn out to be a pain…never had thought of it… But this poem awakened me to the fact that the treasure at times may show up its dark side as well!
Wonderful musing!
