You are here: Home / Who Am I?

Who Am I?

Hello… I’m Shalini!

At Safari World, Bangkok

A small town girl, now in a big smaller city, married, far from naive and too honest for her own good. The word ‘now’ implies, I move around the country every few years, thanks to my husband’s job.

I worked in the Corporate sector as an IT Analyst for six years. Now, I am doing things which I love the most – traveling, cooking, dancing, reading and of course, blogging.

I’m travel obsessed and in love with places, I’ve never been! Here you will find my travel experiences, tips, inspiration, and photography from around the world, especially India. I’ve also written extensively on my trip to Thailand.

I’m a complete foodie and love trying out new recipes in my kitchen. That said I have a food blog – Something’s Cooking where I share those recipes and also some food product and restaurant reviews.

I am a voracious reader and you can also find book reviews on this blog. ‘There is always something to be thankful for’ and Gratitude is the best way to relive your happy memories. Check out my Gratitude posts on the 1st of every month.

At any given point of time, I will have at least five books on my shelf waiting to be read, a load of laundry to be done, my little furball – Mufasa aka Muffy resting his face on my lap and my nose buried in a book.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it.

Feel free to give credit to my posts, after all, I know you are gracious and refined.

I would really love to hear from you.

this book hit very close to home for me. maybe because i am an army wife myself, i could relate to so many emotions between the lines. and yes, i cried buckets. even when you know what’s coming, it still breaks you.
if soft romcoms are your thing, we need to talk.
✨🍬books were read, opinions incoming🍬✨
