Welcome to my Book Review Policy page! If you’re an author or publisher interested in having your book reviewed on my blog, please read the guidelines below to ensure we’re a good fit.
🎀Genres I Accept
I primarily read and review books in the following genres:
- Romance (contemporary, historical, fantasy, dark, rom-com, etc.)
- Fantasy (high fantasy, urban fantasy, magical realism, etc.)
- Thrillers & Mysteries
- Historical Fiction
- Cozy Reads (lighthearted fiction, feel-good books)
- Middle-grade or children’s books
- Literary Fiction (on a case-by-case basis)
I do not review the following genres:
- Non-fiction (self-help, memoirs, business, etc.)
- Horror
- Poetry
- Religious or political books
If your book falls outside these genres, feel free to reach out, but I may not be the right reviewer for you.

Hardbound, Paperbacks, ePUB version for Kindle, and ARC
🎀 What You Can Expect
Honest Reviews: My reviews are always fair and honest. I will share both what I love and what didn’t work for me.
Review Format: My reviews typically include a summary (without spoilers), my thoughts on the writing, characters, and pacing, and a final rating.
Where I Post Reviews: Reviews will be posted on my blog, Goodreads, and possibly Instagram.
Rating System:
🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶 – Loved it, highly recommend!
🐶🐶🐶🐶 – Really enjoyed it, would recommend.
🐶🐶🐶 – It was okay, but had some issues.
🐶🐶 – Not my cup of tea, but may work for others.
🐶 – Did not enjoy it.
If the book is an ARC, I will try and publish the review on or around the release date and not before.
I will post the review on my blog, Bookstaram, Goodreads, and Amazon.
🎀Review Requests: How to Submit
If you’d like me to review your book, please email me at [workwithshalinir@gmail.com] with the following details:
- Any deadlines or preferred review timeline
- Book title & author name
- Genre & brief synopsis
- Release date (if applicable)
- Format available (physical copy, eBook, audiobook)
🎀Turnaround Time
I would take anywhere between 7-14 days to publish the review. If the book is an ARC (Advance Review Copy), I will do my best to post the review before or around the release date. If you have a deadline in mind, please mention it in your request, and I will let you know if I can accommodate it.

🎀Final Notes
- I reserve the right to decline a book for review if it does not align with my interests.
- I do not guarantee a positive review, but my feedback will always be respectful and constructive.
- If I do not finish a book, I may choose to post a DNF (Did Not Finish) review, explaining why it didn’t work for me.
