As we step into November, the days are growing shorter, the air a little crisper, and the urge to curl up with a steaming cup of coffee (or tea!) and a comforting book feels irresistible. It’s the month of slow mornings, golden evenings, and cozy corners- which makes this month’s #ReadingWithMuffy prompt extra special!
🫖 The November Prompt:
Read a book with the word tea, coffee, teashop, or café in the title.
This one’s for all my fellow caffeine lovers who believe a good story, much like a good brew, should be savored slowly. Whether you love your mysteries brewed dark and strong or your romances as sweet as a vanilla latte, there’s something about books set in cozy cafés and teashops that feels like a warm hug in print.
☕ My Pick for November:
This year, I’m diving into The Baby Dragon Café by A.T. Quershi– a heartwarming and magical tale that promises comfort, whimsy, and a sprinkle of fantasy. It’s got everything I love: a cozy café, gentle storytelling, and of course… dragons! 🐉
I read The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore around this same time last year, and it set the perfect autumnal tone. So it feels rather fitting that I’m back to another café-themed book this November- different story, same cozy vibes. With Muffy snuggled beside me and a cup of pumpkin spice latte in hand, this one’s already stealing my heart.
🍵 A Few Book Suggestions:
If you’re still looking for your perfect cup of literary comfort, here are some lovely recommendations for this month’s theme:
- The Café at the Edge of the World by John P. Strelecky – A gentle, reflective read that leaves you thinking long after the last sip.
- The Little Teashop of Lost and Found by Trisha Ashley – Wholesome, witty, and heartwarming.
- The Teashop on the Corner by Milly Johnson – For those who love found families and bookish friendships.
- Meet Me at the Cupcake Café by Jenny Colgan – Sweet, funny, and filled with baked-good goodness.
- The Coffee Shop Book Club by Rosie Dart_ – Perfect for anyone who adores stories about community and connection.

I had actually picked Trisha Ashley’s book first for November, then decided to go with Pumpkin Spice Cafe
