‘Monthly Ketchup’ is a fun post where I catch up with you through some standard questions and prompts. It is written (mostly) on the last day of every month. Ketchup because I want that good ol’ Tomato days to stay with me. (New to my blog? This blog was called ‘Tale of Two Tomatoes’ in the initial days before it was revamped into Kohl Eyed Me).
Feel free to use this template every month to let me know what you’ve been doing.
If you haven’t realized already, this is a chit-chat post where I will be rambling on things I loved, hated, what’s new with me, etc. If you are interested, stay with me.
The month of June was pretty amazing to me. Let me take you through it.
May Ketchup With Me
Read…
In the month of June, I read three books of which one was a Five Star Read.
The first book was ‘The American Roommate Experiment‘, a rom-com. I had huge expectations from the book especially because I fell head over heels in love with The Spanish Deception written by the same author. But what a letdown this one was. I will write a detailed review of the book soon. That said, I wonder why I liked The Spanish Deception!! Was it because I was on a reading slump?
Anyway, I was done with Romance after The American Roommate Experiment. Therefore, I picked up Rock Paper Scissors which came highly recommended. It truly was a jaw-dropping thriller and a five-star read. You can read the review here.
I went back to a romance novel again, named In a Jam. It was a cover buy for me. I didn’t even read the blurb. Also, it was available on Kindle Unlimited for free and that helped! A huge book of 425+ pages, it was just an okay read.
Played…
Not really played! But I attended a dance class that too of Team Naach! They are my favorites and you can watch how it went here.
Watched…
Everything that was released on OTT. From Lust Stories 2 to Inspector Avinash, Dahaad, and movies like Bloody Daddy, I have watched anything and everything without name or reason.
Felt… Scared when Dad was worried about his latest medical reports. Then, I was grateful to know that he is okay! 🙂
Listened (to)…
90’s Hindi Pop! I came across the video of “Yeh Kya Hua” and then there was no looking back. I went on a listening binge of Made in India and Lover Girl by Alisha Chinai, Tera Chehra and Kabhi to Nazar Milao by Adnan Sami, and the like. Brought back so many memories!
Tried…
Sushi for the first time! I kinda liked it but not so much too. Tell me, do you like Sushi?
Cooked…
Regular home food. But hosted a couple of friends for dinner and it was fun.
Ate…
A lot of Burgers and Salads! What a combination, right?
Drank… Quite a lot of Green Apple Mojito! The humidity in Delhi is killing me.
Called… Dad every single day without fail 🙂 It is a daily ritual for us to share how our day went.
Texted… a lot! Cos’ work!
Thought…
a lot about how we can take a long break and go home to Mom and Dad. Still figuring out everything though.
Hoped… for a beautiful month and it was! 🙂
Pinned… Nothing! I am so off my Pinterest game. Another thing to add to my to-do list.
Tweeted… almost nothing because I’m loving Threads now. It is so much fun, less messy and feels so much like the good ol’ Orkut days. If you are on Threads, find me there @kohleyedme?
Went…
to the Doctor’s again and hating it! Hospitals creep me out these days.
Loved…
all the fun things I get to do at my job at Blogchatter!
Hated…
to find out that an idiotic hacker made a fake profile of my Instagram and contacted my friends and followers. Phew! I was scared there for a second. But all is well now. 🧿
Celebrated…
Buying a new Car! Yay! It is kind of like a dream car of ours and we are super excited that this beautiful beast is finally home!
Smelt (of)… of fresh blackcurrant, orange, and grapefruit rose from my Carlton Desire perfume.
Ordered… a lot of books this month! I was on a book-buying spree! Phew!
Thanked… my lucky stars for giving me an absolutely wonderful month with tons of blessings!🧿
Considered… getting back to Yoga but the Delhi weather is unbearable, day and night. Insufferable!
Started… planning for Blogchatter’s 15 Days Reels Challenge and I’m really excited. Are you participating too? You can check out the deets here.
Finished…
almost nothing. Not even my laundry! I can see my to-do list expanding. Phew!
July,
Please be kind ❤️

Wow, Shalini! I must say, your post titled “Monthly Ketchup” has me completely hooked. The way you cleverly play with words, incorporating “ketchup” and referencing the “good ol’ Tomato days,” immediately caught my attention and set the tone for an enjoyable read.
Your blog post promises to be a delightful chit-chat filled with anecdotes, reflections, and a sprinkle of charm. Love reading it 😊

Tomato is my fave veggie! And super expensive these days. How was Bloody Daddy? I don’t have Jio, so not watched it as yet. I love sushi and can eat quite a few in one go with that wasabi sauce. I hate hospitals too. But love spas. Glad your ketchup had all the right ingredients this June.

I enjoyed reading your monthly ketchup post! It’s such a lovely way to reflect on the month and share various experiences. I appreciate your candidness about the books you read and the mixed reactions you had. Your dance class sounds like a fun and energetic activity, and it’s heartwarming to hear about the daily ritual of calling your dad. The fake profile incident must have been unnerving, but I’m glad everything is resolved. Wishing you a wonderful July ahead!

I loved the taste of this “Monthly Ketchup” as it was yummy. What a twist you added in your writing style with Ketchup is really commendable. The post is an absolute enjoyable read which I loved from the chore of my heart. By the way, Rock Paper Scissors, I also read and it’s an absolute master blaster read for me. Lust Stories 2 – I am still watching … liked few stories and still few left to watch. Regular home food is a blessing for our tummy and you are doing great with it. Aha how I can forget to congratulate you for the new car…. enjoy your ride and keep entertaining us with your monthly Ketchup.

Your monthly ketchup gave me a mini panic attack the last time I read it, for the simple, reason that it felt like I was doing much less with my life than you were. So I was kind of dreading reading it because I did not want to feel FOMO again. But this time I actually felt good, I even thought of trying this template to actually see what I have been doing for the whole month to feel more productive. This is a great way of staying mindful in the present and planning for the future.

Loved reading your Ketchup posts, Shalini. That was quite an eventful June. I am seeing Rock Paper Scissors everywhere. Maybe it is a sign to pick it up. Congratulations on your new car. Not a big fan of such or even ceviche either.
