Catalina aka Lina and Aaron work at the same company. They are not even friends, they hate each other. At least, that’s what Lina thinks.
So, imagine the surprise when Aaron- the one with pretty blue eyes and Greek God-like body and who makes her weak-kneed and wobbly- makes the move when Lina is in desperate need of a fake boyfriend to take to her sister’s wedding. The best man, her soon-to-be brother-in-law is her ex.
Is he crazy? Was he pulling a prank at her expense? And God forbid, if she agrees, can she go through this Spanish love deception without breaking her heart?

I picked up The Spanish Love Deception mostly because it was literally everywhere I looked- Instagram, Amazon, Twitter, and where not! I then read the blurb and decided to go for it. And after the first few pages, I knew, this book was going to be the end of me!
Why? You may have to read on…
NOTE: This may not be a typical book review! It is just me going crazy about the book. So, brace yourself!

🔥🔥🔥“I’ll give you the world,” he said against my mouth. “The moon. The fucking stars. Anything you ask, it’s yours. I’m yours.”
This book was effing delicious! It is books like these that have you setting fictional men as the standard, as the baseline which has you judging real-life men on.
AARON Effing BLACKFORD, you have my heart!
He is just so perfect! He makes me believe that there are real gentlemen in this world, after all, and he is literally the nicest person ever. Even though in the initial chapters, he was dark and mysterious and behaved like a douchebag, I couldn’t help by fall head over heels in love with him as and when the story progressed.
He is something else. Like too good to be true!
🔥🔥🔥“I want your heart, Catalina.”… “I want it for myself, just how I have given you mine.”
He is smart and intelligent. He makes sure you eat enough and could steal doughnuts or get five fish tacos for you without caring how much weight you put on. Else, he would make amazing granola bars for you.
He donates money to rescue animals and his ideal date includes taking the girl to play with hamsters, puppies, and cats. He is a sucker for Disney and Pixar movies, especially UP!
Oh… there goes my heart!
He can swipe you off your feet (literally) when you stumble down in the middle of a soccer game and can go to any lengths to make you feel special. He could be jealous, passionate, and possessive about you, all in a good way though. Moreover, he is super duper caring and will make you feel like you belong to him!
🔥🔥🔥“You feel complete in my arms. You feel like my home.”
Sigh. *deep sigh*
He also looks like Clark Kent. That is just an added bonus.
Argh! Like…how!
Now that I’ve established how my heart is not going to recover from him anytime soon, let me get on with what else you can expect from this book.
💫Slow-burn 💫Enemies-to-lovers 💫Fake dating 💫Office romance 💫 One-bed trope
I’m a sucker for enemies-to-lovers and slow-burn and this book gave me all the feels. 487 pages and there wasn’t a moment of exasperation. I DEVOURED this book. In fact, I didn’t want it to end. Aaron and Lina’s chemistry was sizzling hot and the slow burn and banter is literally everything I want in a romance book.
The way Aaron sees through the facade Lina has held up for far too long and those walls, that guard, slowly starts to crumble, it’s just beautiful to witness.
🔥🔥🔥“When I finally kiss you, there won’t be any doubt in your mind that it is real.”
The one-bed trope might make you melt into a puddle and the sexual tension is unendurable!
I also loved Catalina. She is vulnerable yet confident and she stands up for herself. She has a tight-knit family and they are adorable, especially Lina’s big sister Isabel. Her best friend Rosie is the one to watch out for because she is going to be the heroine in the author’s upcoming book. I can’t wait for it enough!
This book made me smile, laugh, sigh deep sighs and feel all the feels!
🔥🔥🔥“But you are. You are worth all that trouble. You are worth walking through a fucking fire. Don’t you see that?
Aaron Blackford is my book boyfriend. Period. He has set the standards too high!

With all my heart, body, and soul, Yes! It is my first five-star read of 2022. I would like to warn you though that this book is going to be incredibly cheesy. So, if you are not a hopeless romantic like me, this book might not work for you.
Otherwise,
I promise you, you NEED this book in your life.
It is my favorite debut book, as of now.
