Hey there! Do you know what a book subscription box is? A book subscription box is a box (well?) that brings latest books to your doorstep every month. These books are usually imported hardcovers. A book subscription box also brings bookish merchandise and goodies making the whole experience for readers gratifying.
I have been ordering boxes from The Big Book Box for about a year and I wonder why I never shared an Unboxing here on my blog for my dear readers.
I, rather, Mufasa was chosen as one of the Representatives of The Big Book Box last summer where we received one box a month along with lots of perks and discounts.
Even though we’ve passed on the baton to another set of talented bookstagrammers, it didn’t stop me from opting for their yearly plan. So, starting this month, I am going to share my experience with this beautifully curated book subscription box.
November Mocha Box Unboxing
Each box is curated based on a theme. The theme for November’19 was:
Silent Spaces Hidden Doors
This box is centered around the much-awaited release of 2019, i.e., The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. Therefore, the theme!

The Books and Goodies in November’19 Mocha Box
There are four books in the Mocha Edition of The Big Book Box. This month, all four books are hardcovers as well! What more do you want?
The first book or The Book of the Month is The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys. This book was available on all four editions – Frappe, Espresso, Cappuccino, and Mocha. The Fountains of Silence is a historical fiction that portrays love, silence, and secrets under a Spanish dictatorship. Widely acclaimed, I’m hoping to pick up this book for one of the Popsugar Reading Challenge Prompts.
The second book in the box is the gorgeous edition of The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. The original cover is beautiful in itself, but TBB Box also came up with an exclusive dust jacket with the characters Zachary and Mirabel as illustrations in the front and intricate designs of bees, keys, swords, and book stacks scattered throughout.

The box was curated around this book because most of the goodies are based on The Starless Sea. Let me show the goodies inspired by this book, one by one. First, is this author’s letter!

The letter came in an envelope along with a black card that had a gold foiled design depicting the sun and the moon at both ends. It makes for a gorgeous bookstagram prop for sure!
The second goodie is the enamel pin and I’d say, TBB Box did a fantastic job bringing together the two spectacular worlds of The Night Circus and The Starless Sea in one single pin.

What do you do with enamel pins? I pin it to my tees, jacket, bag or my jeans! Let me know what you do with them.

I loved the character cards based on Zachary and Mirabel. These cards also have quotes from the book at the back of the card. A true beauty!
A trinket box follows next which has golden embellishments and says ‘Once Upon a Time’ which is also inspired by Zachary’s find in the library. No spoilers!

A beautiful sticker sheet with illustrations of book stacks, letters, sword, key, and an envelope is also provided. I can’t wait to use it on my planner/journal.
| Read Why The Starless Sea is a Five-Star Read
The third book available on Cappuccino and above boxes was The Ten Thousand Doors of January. This is a book that the bookstagram community had been raving about ever since its release. Written by Alix E. Harrow, it is a woman’s fantastical journey of self-discovery after finding a mysterious book.
This time, TBB Box came up with an option for the subscriber to choose between the books- The Beautiful and The Ninth House for the Mocha Edition. Guess what! Yours truly picked up both the books for I’ve been eyeing all these five books since I came to know about it in early 2019.
P.S: I haven’t received The Ninth House yet due to some shipping issues. But it will reach me anytime!
Other Goodies:
A unique goodie came this month – A Jigsaw Puzzle, for the first time in any book box in India. Inspired by the Phantom of Opera, this was a difficult task. Trust me! I always sucked at jigsaw puzzles as a kid, and this time it was no different. With over 100 pieces, it took me a couple of hours to complete this.

The box also contained the second half of the Alice in Wonderland inspired bookend. The other half was available in the October box.

What is The Big Book Box without bookmarks! There were two double-sided bookmarks this time based on the books in the box.

The Big Book Box usually contains more number of goodies. But I do not have any complaints because if I calculate the price of the books alone, it will be way over the price of the box.

I’d say with all my heart, that this box was worth the wait and of course, Muffy approved 🙂

I love these book boxes but I’ve gotten one only once. And that’s because of two reasons- I don’t have enough space and I want to finish off at least a major part of the books that I already own. But this box and the goodies look so gorgeous.
Omg this is absolutely stunning 😍 what else does a book lover need. Gosh I can’t stop staring it. All the gorgeous goodies and books. Even the box cover is absolutely beautiful 😀
