Be it Hollywood or Bollywood, the film industry loves to find inspiration from a good book any day. In the majority of cases, books have always been better than its movie adaptations. Fingers crossed! Let’s hope the 2019 Movie adaptations on books doesn’t fail to capture the audience’s attention.
7 Exciting 2019 Movie Releases based on Books
The Art of Racing in the Rain
One of the first books that I read this year was The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. I don’t know if it is because I have a dog, but the book truly moved me. It broke my heart into a zillion pieces and as I turned each page of the book, I lovingly looked at my Golden boy and wondered if his mind also worked in a similar fashion. Set to release in September 2019, it would be amazing to watch the movie with a dog as the protagonist.
Where’d you go, Bernadette
Where’d you go, Bernadette was one of the bestsellers in 2012 when it was published. Bernadette Fox seemed to have it all – a beautiful home and a loving family until one day she disappears. This mystery thriller is set to make its comeback as a movie in August.
The Sun is also a Star
Based on the 2018 YA novel by Nicola Yoon, The Sun is also a Star is set to release in May. It is a modern day romance about finding love against all odds.
The Woman in the Window
The Woman in the Window by A J Finn was released last year and it was such a rage and for a reason. To be played by Amy Adams who is a recluse in her home in New York, unable to move outside witnesses a crime while spying her neighbors, this psychological thriller is one of the most anticipated movie releases of the year.
Little Women
Yet another movie adaptation of the classic Little Women? Yes, you heard that right. This is the eighth film adaptation of the 1868 classic by Loisa May Alcott. This coming of age novel is scheduled to be released as a movie on Christmas Day and what more! You’ve Emma Watson and Meryl Streep as the lead cast. A must-watch, don’t you think?
The Rosie Project
Set to release next month, The Rosie Project revolves around a socially inept but intelligent genetics professor who has never been on a second date. Don Tillman decides that it is time for him to marry, but he isn’t able to find a suitable wife. And thus begins the Wife Project through which he meets Rosie.
P.S. I Still Love You
When ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ was released on Netflix, it instant became everyone’s favorite chicklit. I’m stoked to know that the sequel is all set to release. I’ve just got the beautiful hardcovers of this series and I’m all set to read them before the sequel releases.
The other anticipated movie releases based on books include The Zoya Factor, Stephen King’s IT and The Goldfinch.

I must admit I didn’t visit any of your book posts in this challenge. It was only the movie angle that hooked me. But I thought PS I Love You was an old release. I remember seeing it on video years ago.
I haven’t seen any of the others though.
