Hello folks and welcome to the June Check-In post for the 2021 #ReadingWithMuffy Reading Challenge. The prompt for this month is to read a book with flowers, leaves, or trees on the book cover!

Use this post to check-in with your book reviews.
Smiles of Nature
Read a book with flowers, leaves, or trees on the cover
Since we celebrate World Environment Day this month, I thought it was apt to have this prompt for the challenge. If you are looking for some book recommendations, here it is:

The Ten Thousand Doors of January
In a sprawling mansion filled with peculiar treasures, January Scaller is a curiosity herself. As the ward of the wealthy Mr. Locke, she feels little different from the artifacts that decorate the halls: carefully maintained, largely ignored, and utterly out of place.
Then she finds a strange book. A book that carries the scent of other worlds, and tells a tale of secret doors, of love, adventure and danger. Each page turn reveals impossible truths about the world and January discovers a story increasingly entwined with her own.

The Kinder Poison
Enthralling fantasy adventure following a teenage girl chosen to be the human sacrifice in a deadly game between three heirs who will do anything for the crown.

The Once and Future Witches
In 1893, there’s no such thing as witches. There used to be, in the wild, dark days before the burnings began, but now witching is nothing but tidy charms and nursery rhymes. If the modern woman wants any measure of power, she must find it at the ballot box.
But when the Eastwood sisters–James Juniper, Agnes Amaranth, and Beatrice Belladonna–join the suffragists of New Salem, they begin to pursue the forgotten words and ways that might turn the women’s movement into the witch’s movement.

Felix Ever After
Felix Love has never been in love—and, yes, he’s painfully aware of the irony. He desperately wants to know what it’s like and why it seems so easy for everyone but him to find someone. What’s worse is that, even though he is proud of his identity, Felix also secretly fears that he’s one marginalization too many—Black, queer, and transgender—to ever get his own happily-ever-after.

Woven in Moonlight
A lush tapestry of magic, romance, and revolution, drawing inspiration from Bolivian politics and history.

What gorgeous covers! Thank you for the reccos 🙂
Such an interesting list! And lovely covers. I love cover (and even titles) that feature nature. Creates beautiful imagery, without even reading the book. 🙂
