“I’ve got quite a lot number of unread books”, I thought as I walked into my cozy home library. Well, the sad (or the best actually!) part is, I can’t help it! I love reading and have been collecting books since I was a kid. However, the To Be Read pile is towering with new and interesting books releasing every other day. So, this year, I decided to take part in some reading challenges and readathons (and even host one!) with my already existing books. Will I succeed in my book buying ban? That we’ll have to wait and see. Here are some of my favorite 2020 Reading Challenges.

2020 Reading Challenges
1. Reading with Muffy 2020 Monthly Reading Challenge
Of course, I had to start with the challenge that I am hosting! 😉

Reading with Muffy is a monthly reading challenge where you should read one book a month according to the given prompt for the month. There are 8 unscheduled prompts too which you can read at leisure. There are prizes to be won as well! Here are the prompts for you!

Check out this post to signup! I can’t wait to see your book choices!
2. The Goodreads Reading Challenge
I set a target on my Goodreads account every year. I mostly fall short by a couple of books. But I have always outdone myself from the number of books I’ve read the previous year. My overambitious brain asks me to set a target of 100 in 2020, but for now, I am keeping it to 52 – a book a week.
3. Popsugar Reading Challenge
With a daunting 40 mandatory prompts and 12 advanced prompts, I Popsugar Challenge is the toughest to crack. However, this year I am going to give it a go. I already started searching for books and I realize how difficult it is going to be. Find the prompts below.

4. Diversify Your Reading
12 months, 12 genres, 12 books. That’s all there is to Diversify Your Reading Challenge. The genres are already laid out and I’m excited to take part in this challenge.

For now, I’m taking part only in these four as I’m finding it difficult to find books for all the reading challenges. I also want to leave room for reading books on the go. However, here are some more interesting challenges for you to try out.
Other 2020 Reading Challenges

6. 2020 Reading Women Challenge
Reading Women Challenge is another popular reading challenge that most of the book bloggers and bookstagrammers take part in every year. There are 24 (plus 4) prompts but you may read one book that fits multiple categories.
7. Monthly Motif Reading Challenge
Monthly Motif Reading Challenge has one motif or theme every month and you have to read one book that fits the motif of that month.
8. Book Bingo Reading Challenge
Hosted by Modern Gypsy, this challenge consists of a bingo card with 25 book prompts where you can cross off or pick out a few rows.

All these challenges sound great, and I am so tempted!! I especially wanted to participate in the PopSugar and ReadHarder challenges this year, after procrastinating on them every year in the past. But I also want to take it light in 2020, reading wise I mean, because I’ve so many other conflicting priorties.. aargh!!
I will try to join Muffy’s reading challenge on insta though!
