Three sisters. Three magical objects. A curse ~ You can sum up ‘A Pinch of Magic’ by Michelle Harrison just like that!

I’ve been trying to read this book for three months. But the blame is solely on me and not the book because I was hit by a bad reading slump. So, it took some time for me to get started with the book and today as I finished reading it, I don’t understand why it took me so long to devour this brilliant book.
It is a sweet fairytale where three Widdershins sisters – Fliss, Betty, and Charlie are bound by a curse that says they cannot leave the little island they live in – Crowstone. And if they step out of the island, they die.
The three sisters live with their Granny above their pub in Crowstone. Their mother is dead and their dad is in prison. Betty is adventurous and wants to explore the world. That’s when she gets to know about the curse.
The book is about their quest for freedom but it also about sisterhood, friendship, bravery, and also a pinch of magic. I also loved the Granny who reminded me of my own-fair, strict and also lovable. There isn’t a single character in the story which is unwanted and they are so real. The curse on the Widdershins goes back to Sorsha and Prue’s story.
I’m not going to spill the beans about the plot anymore. Because just go and dive straight in. It’s going to be a fantastic magical adventure. That gorgeous cover is what made me buy the book in the first place. And I don’t regret it one bit. A near-perfect magical tale!
