He was her destination. She just didn’t know it. When Maya leaves Luke to go in search of her blood family, nothing prepares her for the secrets she uncovers about herself.
An intense, shifter romance, set in Bombay. A standalone novelette in the Many Lives universe.
Feral is a Novella in the Many Lives series but is also a stand alone story. It is the tale of Maya who is in search of her blood relations. After having known that she had been adopted and of her real ‘identity’ from her mother, she is sad and tormented. She is dejected to leave her foster family and also Luke, her mate and go in search of her biological parents. She lands up in Bombay- only now it is a reformed city after being hit by Tsunami. She meets some fine people and finds a rather strong chemistry with Jai, the Mayor’s son. Her feelings for Luke is strong but then why does she experience this closeness with Jai? Will she discover who her real family is? Will she stay back or keep er promise to Luke by returning back to her ‘pack’?
Once I started understanding the background of the story, it was easy to relate. The story had a good flow and went about at a fast pace. The conflicting emotions of a teenager in Maya was well put and the narration was good. I loved how the future Bombay is portrayed. Alas, I wish it was so!
I didn’t know what to expect of the book and hence it took me a while to know what’s happening. Though it is a Novella, I would have loved to read a few more events on Maya and her ‘foster’ mother, and also with Jai. You are left with so many unanswered questions in the end, but may be that’s why it is called a ‘series’. If that is the case, it cannot be treated as a stand alone book.
Do I Recommend?
Yes, for it’s a paranormal romance.
I give 3.5 on 5
