TATA BOLT- The Bleeding Edge!

“Shalu, I am being posted to Delhi and I’ll have to leave in a couple of weeks”. It came as a shock to me and being married to the Olive Green I knew I had to face these kind of thunderbolts in my life, quite often. After our “healthy discussion” which lasted for a good few hours, we arrived at a mutual agreement of me staying back at Pune, not having to sacrifice my career, at least for now. Then came the biggest question- how will I travel…alone? Being pampered and protected by my hubby since my wedding day, I was at the luxury of having been “taken care of” everything I wanted in life. And now all he said was, “It’s time to dust off the driving license you acquired some four years ago!”

Thus, on a chilly winter morning, we set foot at the Amanora Town Center, Pune to be mesmerized by the stunning Tata BOLT. Call it the heights of girlishness, a thought popped in my mind, “It’s love at first sight. She is mine!”

With a mission to revamp the brand image, Tata has launched Tata BOLT – the first hatchback car from the brand, with its powerful 1193 cc engine.

So, what features took my heart away?

a. Chic and Classy Looks

b. The Revotron 1.2 Engine with Multi-drive modes

c. Infotainment by HARMAN

d. Comfy Interiors

e. Last but not the Least

She is sexy, ain’t she?

The Tata BOLT has a glowing and well-sculpted front face. It sports the bonnet grille called Smiley Grille and Humanity Line under it- just as in Tata Zest. The headlamps combined with projector lamps and the slight power bulge on the hood, gives it the sporty look. The headlights are blackened out and the fender spots Fog lamps. The perfect A pillar holds the windshield in place and the B pillar is seamlessly stylish. And here comes the best part- The C pillar, which is blackened out giving it a reverse floating roof effect. At the back, the flame shaped tail lights have replaced the Christmas tree tail lamps of the previous Tata editions.

The Tata Revotron 1.2T, India’s first 1.2-litre MPFi turbocharged petrol engine, is a brilliant innovation by the Tatas. The same was first launched on Tata Zest resulting in an overwhelming response. The BOLT comes with a powerful 1193 cc engine, with a max power of 90 PS @ 5000 RPM and max torque of 140 Nm @ 1500 – 4000 RPM, making it extremely easy to drive with absolutely no turbo lag. The BOLT comes in three driving modes: the default mode being City (offering a balance between power and efficiency),  Eco (giving maximum fuel efficiency) or Sport (The peppy and agile- increasing the power output) – all at the mere press of a switch. Now, that’s something I really look forward to. Thus, it makes the drive extremely easy with no turbo lag. I want to go Vroooommmmm………….

BOLT has a fabulous CONNECTNEXT touchscreen infotainment system by HARMAN featuring voice controls and navigation supported by MAPMYINDIA. This means, navigation gets delivered to the touchscreen by connecting a smartphone loaded with this free-to-download app.

The infotainment system is a 2 din audio system with eight speakers supporting bluetooth, SD card reader, USB and aux-in, along with a trip computer, power windows, power mirrors, parking sensors and climate control. EIGHT Speakers? Are you kidding me? Wow!!

The Bolt also features a speed-sensitive steering wheel and the advance gen ABS for improved braking.

Do you need further explanation?

The cabin features are same as that of the Zest, but with a more alluring black color theme. The seats are comfy with ample leg room at the back as well. It also has height adjustable seats, Boot light and a secret compartment under the front seat.

Safety and easy on the pocket! The BOLT comes with an Anti-Lock EBD with Corner Stability Control and an advanced generation ABS for improved braking. It has a Disk-Drum braking system that works well.  The top model also features dual airbags enhancing security.

Expected to be in the range of 4.20 Lakhs to 6.90 Lakhs, BOLT is easier on your pocket with advanced features, compared to its competitors.

The machine justmelts your heart. It is comfy, sassy, classy, soothing and pleasant and you get an instant urge to drive. I have signed for the test-drive. Will you too?

It's a Test Drive! Yay!

It’s a Test Drive! Yay!

Thanks for the brilliant opportunity, Team Blogadda!
