Onion Fritters

Another yummy evening snack to blow your mind away. Treat yourself with a garam (hot) cup of chai (tea), especially on a rainy evening.

I agree, that the onion prices are rising high in India.Headshot suicide So this “everyday-evening snack” can now be treated as a “once-in a while” delicacy.

A simple one to prepare, this “Ulli Bajji”  is famous in all Kerala homes. I have had this from Singhad Fort, Pune (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinhagad)  too. Apparently this “Kanda Baji is a must have when you visit the place.

Ulli Vada

Ingredients:

Maida (all-purpose flour) or Besan flour – 1 cup

Salt- to taste

Onion – 3

Ginger- a small piece

Green Chilly- 4

Chilli Powder – 1tsp (optional)

Oil – for deep frying

Method:

Cut green chillies and ginger into very tiny pieces.

Mix all the ingredients except oil, in a bowl. Add in water as required. The consistency should be a little less than that of the batter you make for rotis/chappathis and not as loose as that of dosa.

Pour in one spoon of this mixture in hot oil.

Fry and serve hot.Eating cookie
