February is my favorite month of the year. It’s a month of love, happiness and smiles and this year it was more than special.
February started with a bang as we celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary on the 3rd. It wasn’t extra-ordinary. Instead, after 20 days of ‘meatless’ days (yeah, for us it is a big deal), I cooked his favourite Chicken Biriyani, had few close friends come over for lunch which extended to a tea party and dinner. We decided to have a quiet ‘Us time’, sipped wine and watched a movie together rather than going out for dinner. “It’s just the fourth anniversary and you are already behaving like an old couple“, a friend of mine gasped in horror. All I did was smile. I guess this was the best anniversary we have had till date. He wasn’t even with me the last time and there could be many such years as he would be away guarding the borders and I would be waiting for his phone call at the end of the day. So, knowing that he was right next to me, the comfort of his silence, looking at our wedding photographs together, the smiles, the kisses, the dances made my day.
The second week went by with lots of shopping because guess what? We were heading for our first international trip together. Though travel was on our cards since long, keeping a deadline did the trick. As part of the #GearUp2017 Instagram campaign by Blogchatter blogging community, we were asked to share our personal goals for this year. Though there were N no: of other resolutions like taking up a photography course or a dance class or joining the gym to shed that extra kilos, I for once, gave priority to the long pending travel plans with my husband.
I’m sure, during these last few days of December, the whole world is busy making resolutions! I’ve made and broken them before. But this time, I’ve decided to put a deadline to the much-needed long-pending travel plans with my husband. Ha! So I’m leaving aside other personal goals as taking up a dance class or a photography course or joining the gym to shed that extra kilos. This one’s more important. Let me #GearUp2017 with dreams and style with @blogchatter 😍 ✈🏄🌅 #newyear #newyear2017 #personalgoal
And yes! I celebrated my birthday on the 28th, lunching at the one and only Grotto, overlooking the beautiful islands and beaches and pristine white sand at Krabi.
There were so many things that got ticked off from my bucket list and I am exhilarated to share them all with you. But all in due time. However, today, I want to thank God for making it possible, friends who helped in planning the trip and my man who made me in charge of every single thing – the hotels, money, travel dates, places to visit, things to buy, things to do. So, after 15 days and four major places covered, our trip to Thailand was an unforgettable experience for many reasons. I was drooling over the white powdery beaches, limestone cliffs, turquoise water body surrounding the islands, lush green forests and the amazing marine life that this beautiful country had to offer. For the many who told us that a Thailand trip should only be for three or four days, I would say you’ve missed out on so so so much.
The suitcases and backpacks are emptied. And there are clothes and clothes everywhere. Thank Almighty for the rain Gods decided to hold on till now, (yup! The first rains have started just now as I type this!) and we could do all the laundry in the last three days. Oh, that bag full of footwear is left in one corner. Phew! But I am ready to do all this over and over again for I love traveling.
Thank you dear readers who followed me on Instagram and got a slice of my travel through Insta stories and posts. Do not fret, I will share them all and many more here in the coming days. Stay tuned.
How was your February? Please share in the comment section below for I would love to know.
