I have been waiting to tell you so many things over a cup of coffee today. So, welcome. Pull up a chair as I brew a perfect cup of coffee for you.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that we celebrated Saraswati Pooja at home after long. This is the 7th day of Navrathri and we keep our books for Pooja and pray to the Goddess Saraswati to bestow wisdom and knowledge. Along with books, we also keep tools related to work- like your car keys, camera, laptop or even your Ghungroo at the deity’s feet. On the 9th day, we do pooja and take them out believing we’ve been blessed. As kids, my sister and I were asked to sit down in front of the deity soon after the pooja, with a pen and paper for writing down our basics- i.e., the ABCs, the Malayalam and Hindi Alphabets and numbers from 1 to 100. This time, the pooja was at my in-laws place and they weren’t into this practice. But, I wasn’t hesitant to follow what my parents imbibed in me.
If we were having coffee, I would say that it has been a year since my dog died and we still cherish the moments we had with him. I was much closer to Scooby’s mom- Rani while Scooby was more of my Dad’s pet. My sister was also attached to him and it was a shock to all of us when he passed away. Dad hasn’t got another dog yet and that is sad as I do not remember a time in our lives when we didn’t have one.
If we were having coffee, I would say that we dined at Thakaaram Restaurant, a non-vegetarian’s paradise. They are a chain of restaurants that serve authentic Malabar food. It is a theme restaurant and we visited an aircraft in a hangar set up. Husband had gone to another branch in Trivandrum which is designed as a train.
We were fortunate to get in without having to stand in long queues. I’ve heard their waiting go up to an hour or so. The menu had witty names and had a wide variety. I wouldn’t say the food was exotic, but it it was good.
If we were having coffee, I would say that I was jumping with joy after having met my childhood friends after long, this time with their spouses. Our parents are thick friends too, being there for each other through thick and thin. As they say, some friendships are timeless!
If we were having coffee, I would say that I’m back in my cocoon after ten days of vacation. I was spoiled rotten all these days with all the yummy food cooked by my parents and in-laws. Of course, I have already started missing all the pampering. But it’s high time that I get back into my routine and shed away everything that I gained from the over-indulgence. Believe me! I didn’t care less for all the stares and open-mouthed expressions I got from my husband when I hogged.
Oh yes! If we were having coffee, I would say that finally, I watched the movie – M.S. Dhoni- The Untold Story. As the reviews say, it was too long and I guess it didn’t even go through the editing section. But I respect and adore the man and nothing could beat my excitement. I was hooting and howling throughout.
If we were having coffee, I would ask you to join me in wishing a very dear blogger A very happy birthday ! She is our PotterHead, who blogs at Fabulus and Blue Life. It is a special one for her as she has turned eighteen today. I adore her and admire her writes. You should definitely visit her space. Wishing you happiness, love and all the blessings dear, Mithila. 💕
As I try my best to set everything back in order at my home, I would love to hear how your week went by. Undoubtedly, over a cup of coffee of course!
Until next week,
